Step 01: EPS-TOPIK Test of Proficiency in Korean

Eligibility to apply for EPS-TOPIK

  • Male or Female
  • Must be 18 to 39 years at the time of pre-registration
  • No criminal record in the Pakistan and not in ECL
  • Person who don’t have more than 5 years’ sojourn in Korea
  • No record of illegal stay in Korea
  • Not restricted from re-entering Korea
  • Must have machine readable passport
    (Applicants with color blindness, color weakness are not permitted)

Implementation of EPS-TOPIK

  • Implemented at each country considering the number of valid rosters and anticipated roster-exhausting time
  • Specific schedule and details are announced in advance

Announcement of test passers

Pass Criteria
The passing criteria is comprises of following:

  • 1st round:  EPS-TOPIK Among the candidates who scored over 50 points out of 100, designated number of candidates will pass in order of highest score
  • 2nd round:  Skills Test First round passers must take Skills test and there’s no need for the application (applied automatically) total score 100 points. But, the applicants, who want to take Competency test for additional 5 points, must submit documents for Competency test within the application period. (Those who don’t take Skills Test CANNOT be passed)

Note: Even the candidates pass the EPS-TOPIK, they only obtain qualification to be registered in EPS Pool through Job application, it does not guarantee employment in Korea

 
   

Step 02: Job application/ Roster making and registration

Top

Eligibility of job application

  • Person aged between 18 and 40
  • Person who passed EPS-TOPIK
  • Person who fits for medical checkup decided by Korean government
  • Person with no criminal record in relation to serious offence punishable by imprisonment
  • Person who does not have previous record of deportation/eviction order from Korea
  • Person who don’t have more than 5 years’ sojourn in Korea
  • Person who posses MR Passport at least with 1 year validity

How to make job application

  • Submit the designated Job Application Form to the OEC offices which appointed according to MOU concluded between Korea and Pakistan

Job application period

  • Submit Job application form and necessary documents within the valid term of EPS-TOPIK (2 years)
  • Valid term of job application : valid for 1 year from the day of approval
  • If a worker could not sign the labor contract within the valid term of roster, the worker can make job application again within the valid term of EPS-TOPIK
  • If valid term of EPS-TOPIK(2 years) has been expired, candidate shall pass EPS-TOPIK if desired to registered again

Notice: Registering roster in EPS Pool does not guarantee employment in Korea because EPS is the system that employer can select workers among the registered workers in EPS pool.

 
   

Step 03: Standard Labor Contract Signing

  • Standard Labor Contract is adopted when signing labor contract between employer and foreign workers

Contents of labor contract

  • Period of labor contract
  • Place of working area, occupation description
  • Working hours, recess hours and day off
  • Components of wage, how and when to pay
  • Other matters concerning the working conditions which need to be preset between employer and foreign worker
  • Probation period can applied maximum 3 months and the period can be estimated from the day of beginning of actual work. 10% can be deducted from the minimum wage or more is going to be paid for the foreign worker under probation period.
  • Labor contract come into force from the day of the worker enters Korea

How to sign labor contract

  • When certain worker is selected by employer, the Standard Labor Contract is forwarded to the OEC by HRD Korea
  • OEC informs the contents of the labor contract to the job seeker and report the job seeker's intention to HRD Korea within 24hrs.

Notice for labor contract signing

  • If labor contract has been cancelled by the reason of foreign workers, job application is restricted for 1 year
  • If foreign workers do not satisfied with the contents of the contract, the job seeker can refuse to sign the contract for only 1 time but if refused 2nd times, the job application is restricted for 1 year
 
   

Step 04: Preliminary Training

  • Subject to Preliminary Training (New Foreign workers who concluded labor contract with Korean employer)

Preliminary Training period and Contents

  • Minimum 45 hours
  • Korean Language education
  • Understanding of Korean culture
  • Understanding of Employment Permit System
  • Basic training such as industrial safety
  • Education by industry

Preliminary Training Organization

  • OEC  as approved by Korean MOEL
 
   

Step 05: Entry in Korea/ Employment Entry in Korea/ Employment

CCVI (Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance) and VISA

  • When labor contract concluded between employers and foreign workers, employers can apply for CCVI of the worker to Ministry of Justice of ROK. MOJ issues CCVI after examining each worker
  • Foreign workers who got issued CCVI apply for visa to the Korean Embassy in the Pakistan through the OEC

Entry schedule setup

  • Those who got issued visa shall be prepared to enter Korea on the day scheduled by HRD Korea such as flight ticket reservation.
  • Labor contract and medical checkup certificate need to be carried before entry to Korea

Entry to Korea and Employment Training

  • When entering Korea, foreign workers need to wear uniforms and Name Tag distributed by OEC
  • Workers enter Korea on scheduled day by HRD Korea shall guided to the Employment Training Center after going through entry formalities under HRD Korea's & CWA Wing’s guidance at the airport.
  • Foreign workers shall complete Employment Training after entry in Korea
